How To Create A Network of 18,000+ in 12 Months
No matter what you’re doing every day for your marketing efforts, I want to show you something you should be doing every single day. It’s something that will build your business forever so that you’ll have no excuse for not having people to talk to.
Oh yeah, and it’s by FAR the easiest thing to do online.
I don’t understand why so many people overlook this one little thing when they are jumping all over, hunting for success. I mean it’s right here in front of everyone!
You can build big lists of people on Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In and any other social media place you can think of.
Think about this for a minute. Odds are, you’re not going to build an empire online in the next month. Many experts say you should have a 12-36 month plan in order to be successful. If you are looking at a 12 month plan, what can you accomplish in that time? A whole heck of a lot!
What if every day, you went on Facebook and added 30 people and sent them a little message. Then, you went on Linked-In and add 30 people there and sent them a message. Then, you go on Twitter and follow 50 people, about 25-35 of which will follow you back. Not everyone accepts friend requests, so lets say you can add 75 people to your networks per day.
Doing that 5 days a week, after one month, you’ll have about 1,500 people! After 12 months, that’s 18,000 people! If you have 18,000 people to connect with on those three social media, you can absolutely do some damage in the industry.
If you write a blog post one day, wouldn’t it be pretty easy to divert just 100 of those 18,000 to your blog post? Do that several times a week, and you’ll have a large readership!
Or send them to a Youtube video! Basically, it’s a way to jump-start the “hits” on your video, and Youtube might feature your video.
You can show your network an article you wrote in an article directory, and that will show the directory that your article is popular and might give you more exposure.
Remember I said to write them a little message as well. This is critical, guys. This will make your network at least twice as responsive to you, maybe even more. Many times it opens up conversations and you can get to know a lot of them personally.
How easy is this? Like an hour a day? You can be SURE that this will work to build your business in the long run. Always keep in mind that you are building to have a business for the rest of your life, not just for this month. Accomplishing something little every day leads to A LOT accomplished after a few months or a year.
I understand there are a million strategies to social media training, and everyone is doing something different. But regardless of what you’re doing, you can still add these people!
Of course, be sure you’re not selling and pitching, let your blog and articles attract people to you and they’ll want to work with you. If you really connect with your network, you’ll have 18,000 VERY responsive people hanging out with you!
Have a good one!

Hey Erin,
This is honestly so powerful because so many people don’t realize how much small baby steps can add up very quickly and start to accumulate into something massive in not a very long period of time.
For example: Did you know that if you put away $200/month into an investment account that yielded 15% per year and you started when you were 20, did you know that you’d be a multi millionaire by the time you were 40?
Great post Erin! Keep up the good work

Yeah Michael exactly! I actually just watched your video about that. It’s amazing how impatient people are!! I’m like dude you’re building a business, take one step at a time. It takes a little bit of time but if you are consistently building and taking massive action, tah dah! You got success.

What a great post! : ) and actually you wouldn’t even necassarily have to send them to youtube to watch the youtube video. You could simply embed the youtube video on your blog, and every view it gets still counts on youtube.
And then the Alexa ranking of your blog will go up as well, along with activity, which the big G loves : )
Thats what I like to call a win win!
Great post Erin!
